Push notifications for iOS

We have today enabled push notifications for all hosting customers using the mail app on iOS with their iPhone or iPad.  This means you’ll not have the option of being notified when you have new mail, rather than having to check it manually or wait for a scheduled check.  Ideal if you’re waiting for an important email or just want to ensure you are up to date.

How do I enable this?

If you’re already using the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad all you need to do is close and re-launch the app to active this new feature.  With your device unlocked, just double click the home button, then swipe up the Mail app to close it.  Then open it again from your home screen to enable push notifications.

Do I need to install any software?

The service uses Apple’s native APN so there is no need to install any additional apps to make it work.  There is no additional charge for this service.
